FAQ: Fee Calculator

Commissions or fees These are the small amounts of money that cryptocurrency platforms (exchanges) charge you for each purchase or sale you make. Think of them as an ATM fee or a service charge.

Our calculator shows you that these rates are not fixed: The more money you trade each month (your monthly volume), the more affordable trading becomes.

Although these terms may sound complicated, the difference is simply how eager you are to have your surgery:

Taker: That's when you want to buy or sell right now at whatever the market price is. Since you're «taking» the current offer and walking away, you're reducing liquidity on the platform, which is why the commission is usually a little higher.
Maker (Creator): That's when you place a scheduled order by saying: «I only want to buy if the price drops to X.». Since your order remains pending and helps the platform offer options to other users, you are «creating» liquidity, and the exchanges reward you by charging you lower fees.

Because Cheap things can sometimes end up costing a lot. Our smart recommender evaluates two factors: the math (fees) and your security (regulation and risk).

If you're dealing with small amounts, the system will prioritize the lowest fees so you don't lose money on transaction costs. However, if it detects that you're going to move large amounts of capital, the algorithm will automatically prioritize platforms with strict regulation (such as the MiCA regulations in Europe) and the highest level of security ever recorded.

The «User Level» determines how preferential your treatment is on the exchange. By default, we all start at the basic level with standard fees. To activate VIP mode and drastically reduce the costs calculated by our tool, exchanges usually ask you to do one of two things:

Keep your native currency: Keep a minimum balance of token native to the exchange (for example, BNB on Binance).
Handling large quantities: Exceed certain monthly purchase/sale limits. Once you meet the requirements, the platform automatically applies the discounts.
