Revolut X: Professional trading without leaving Revolut
Revolut X is Revolut’s cryptocurrency exchange. It launched in May 2024 in the United Kingdom and later expanded to the 30 countries of the European Economic Area. It operates like a traditional exchange, with an order book, TradingView charts, and an API, designed for those who want more than just the “Buy” button in the app. Its fees are flat: 0% for maker orders and 0.09% for taker orders, regardless of the volume you trade.
Since October 2025, it has been operating under a MiCA license granted by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) to Revolut Digital Assets Europe, headquartered in Limassol. This authorization allows it to offer its services throughout the EEA under a single regulatory framework. You can access it with your Revolut account, and money transfers between the app and the exchange instantly and free of charge.
Who is Revolut X for? It's for Revolut users who want to trade using an order book with minimal fees, without having to open an account on another exchange.
Advantages:
- Flat fees of 0% for makers and 0.09% for takers, with no volume-based tiers
- Instant, free transfers of euros between Revolut and the exchange
- Order book, TradingView charts, and API included
Disadvantages:
- Spot trading only: no margin, futures, or leverage
- It is essential to have a Revolut account
- Withdrawals to external wallets incur a flat fee plus the network fee
Where is Revolut X available? 31 European countries
Revolut X is available in 31 European countries: the 30 countries of the European Economic Area (the 27 countries of the European Union plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) and the United Kingdom. It is Revolut’s cryptocurrency exchange: a separate platform from the main app, with more advanced analysis tools and lower fees, for which you must first have a Revolut account.
All you need is for your Revolut account to be registered in one of the countries marked on the map. Availability is the same across all 31 countries, with no differences from one country to another. Among them are Croatia, Cyprus, and Greece, which are often excluded from other European exchanges.
Revolut X is not available outside the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. This is the case in Switzerland, where you can still open a Revolut account, as well as in other markets where the app is available, such as the United States, Australia, Japan, Brazil, New Zealand, and Singapore. Mexico is on the waiting list until its launch in 2026.
How to Open a Revolut X Account, Step by Step
Opening an account on Revolut X is quick. Download the app, enter your phone number, and enter the code you receive via text message. Then create a 6-digit access code and, if you’d like, enable notifications for your favorite cryptocurrencies and market volatility. Finally, you’ll fill in your personal and financial information (address, employment status, income, assets and their source, and how much you expect to invest in crypto over the next 12 months), which is required by regulation.
To verify your identity, you’ll need to indicate your citizenship, scan the front and back of your ID card, and take a photo of yourself. To log in later, use the app or the website with your phone and your code; on the website, confirm with a notification in the Revolut app. You can also log in with Face ID or set up a passkey, which uses your face or fingerprint instead of your phone, email, or code.
Security on Revolut X: How It Protects Your Funds and Your Account
Revolut X is the cryptocurrency exchange from Revolut, the fintech company that, according to its own figures, is used by more than 80 million people. Most funds are stored in cold storage—that is, offline—so hackers cannot access them. In addition, your assets are held on a 1:1 basis and are never lent out, with constant risk monitoring.
Revolut X is linked to your main Revolut account, so the security of your profile also depends on protecting your phone and your login credentials. Set up a passkey, which lets you log in by unlocking your phone instead of using a password, and confirm with a push notification. Keep in mind, however, that cryptocurrencies are not covered by investor protection: there is a risk of loss.
| Security | Data |
|---|---|
| Regulator | CySEC (MiCA) |
| Entity in the EEA | Revolut Digital Assets Europe Ltd |
| Cold storage | Most of the funds |
| Asset Reserve | 1:1, no loans |
| Exchange type | External custodians subject to due diligence |
| Account Security | 2FA y passkeys |

Revolut X Fees: Flat Rates with No Volume-Based Tiered Structure
Revolut X charges the same fee regardless of your trading volume: 0% for makers and 0.09% for takers, and all fees are displayed before the trade is executed. The maker places a limit order in the order book, and the taker executes it instantly—for example, with a market order. For a taker purchase of 1,000 € in BTC, the fee is 0.90 €.
Depositing euros from your Revolut account or crypto from an external wallet is free (in the latter case, only the network fee is deducted), as is withdrawing euros to Revolut. Withdrawing crypto costs £1 or £3, depending on the currency, plus the network fee, which varies depending on blockchain traffic. The app shows you the total before you confirm, and it never charges you more than what you see.
| Concept | Fee | Extra |
|---|---|---|
| Trading maker | 0,00 % | Fixed, no sections |
| Trading taker | 0,09 % | Fixed, no sections |
| Deposit in euros (from Revolut) | 0,00 € | Only from your Revolut account |
| Crypto deposit (external wallet) | 0,00 € | The network is deducted |
| Withdrawal in euros (to Revolut) | 0,00 € | Between your Revolut accounts |
| Withdrawals of SOL, XRP, ADA, XLM, DOT, AVAX, XTZ, ALGO | 1 £ (equivalent in €) | + network fee |
| Withdrawals of BTC, ETH, USDC, and others | 3 £ (equivalent in €) | + network fee |
Revolut X vs. the Revolut app
In the standard Revolut app, the fee for buying crypto depends on your plan: depending on the plan, it starts at 1.49% and goes as low as 0.49%, and the lower rate requires a monthly subscription. In Revolut X, there are no plans or tiers, and the maximum fee is 0.09% as a taker. If you buy crypto frequently, the difference in cost is significant.
| Plan | Price | Crypto Commission |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Free | Starting at 1.49% |
| Plus | €3.99/month | Starting at 1.49% |
| Premium | 8.99 €/month | Starting at 0.99% |
| Metal | 15.99 €/month | Starting at 0.99% |
| Ultra | 55 €/month | Starting at 0.49% |
| Revolut X | Flat rate | 0 % maker / 0,09 % taker |
Staking on Revolut X: Earn Returns While Holding Your Cryptocurrencies
Staking lets you earn rewards by locking up certain cryptocurrencies to help validate a blockchain network. On Revolut X, you can activate it from the Growth tab, and you remain the owner of your cryptos while they generate returns (APY).
The APY is variable and not guaranteed. When you withdraw your investment, there is a waiting period of up to 24 days, depending on the currency, during which you do not earn rewards. Revolut does not charge a fee on rewards, although third-party fees may apply.
| Cryptocurrency | APY | Wait when checking out |
|---|---|---|
| Cosmos | 21,04 % | 24 days |

| Tron | 3,14 % | 14 days |
| Ether | 2,67 % | 11 days |
Warning: Staking involves risks, such as losing part of your stake due to network penalties. Rewards are not guaranteed.
Customer Service at Revolut X: Support and Contact Channels
Revolut X support is provided through the secure chat feature in the Revolut app, available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and in over 100 languages. Before messaging us, you can check out the Help Center, which includes guides and frequently asked questions. If you can’t log in to the app and don’t have access to the chat, you can email support@revolut.com. Revolut warns that it will only contact you through the app, so be wary of any external calls claiming to be from their support team.
There is no general phone number: Revolut does not offer phone support for most inquiries, and only customers with plans such as Ultra can call from the app—in English. For formal complaints, the crypto-asset procedure allows you to file them for free through the app, using an online form, or at formalcomplaints@revolut.com. The response is sent by email, usually in English, although you can request communication in an official EEA language.
Revolut X in 2026: Is It Worth It?
Revolut X is Revolut’s cryptocurrency exchange and one of the easiest ways to get started with trading in Europe. It combines very low flat fees (0% maker and 0.09% taker), over 300 tokens, and MiCA regulation with advanced tools such as TradingView charts and an API for automating strategies. Plus, staking lets you earn returns on your cryptocurrencies without leaving the platform.
There are a few things to keep in mind. You can only deposit and withdraw a portion of the tokens you can trade; fiat currency can only be deposited from your Revolut account; customer support does not include phone assistance for most inquiries; and cryptocurrencies do not offer investor compensation. Even so, this is Revolut’s bid to enter the cryptocurrency trading market: fast, intuitive for beginners, and with competitive fees. That’s why we recommend it especially to those who already use Revolut, and we rate it 4.5 out of 5.
| Criteria | Weight | Score |
